Chapter 1 (Him)

Author's pov

A deafening gunshot shattered the silence, echoing through the cold, dimly lit room. Arjun Rathore lowered his gun, his face blank, unreadable, as the lifeless body slumped to the ground. Without a flicker of hesitation or remorse, he holstered the weapon, his sharp eyes narrowing as he turned his gaze to his surroundings, cold and calculated.

Arjun Rathore was no ordinary man. CEO of Rathore Industries, he ruled the corporate world with an iron fist, his company standing unrivaled at the top of the market. Yet, it wasn’t just his success that left an impact—it was his aura. Employees cowered at the mere mention of his name; in his presence, they stood rigid, their fear palpable. Ruthless and unapologetically arrogant, Arjun didn’t waste a second contemplating his actions. Betray him, and you were as good as dead. Mercy was a foreign concept to him..

Arjun’s gaze was hard and unyielding until it landed on her. She was standing near the roadside, dressed simply in a white kurti and denim jeans, her hair tumbling freely around her face. Arjun’s eyes traced over her, captivated by a beauty he had never quite seen before. She stood there in a simple white kurti that flowed lightly in the breeze, paired with well-worn denim jeans that hugged her figure just right. There was an effortless grace about her, like she didn’t need adornments to shine. Her hair fell freely around her shoulders, framing her face in soft waves, moving slightly with the wind.

Her skin glowed with a natural warmth, untouched by any makeup, her features delicate yet striking in their simplicity. Her eyes held a quiet spark, alive with kindness and curiosity, and her lips curved into the faintest of smiles. She was a vision of purity and strength, grounded yet ethereal. For the first time in his life, Arjun felt something shift within him—an obsession, a need. She was beauty in its most genuine form, and he wanted her entirely.

There was no trace of makeup, just the glow of natural beauty that seemed to soften everything around her. She bent down gracefully, picking up a small flower that had fallen from a basket on the ground. Turning to the young child selling the flowers, she extended the blossom back to him, her eyes warm and her lips curving into a smile that lit up her entire face.

Arjun felt something inside him stir, his heart unexpectedly caught in that simple, genuine moment. His rigid expression softened, and for the first time, a gentle smile played at the edges of his lips. “Mine…” he murmured quietly, captivated. This woman—this moment—felt like destiny.
